CONDOLENCES FROM PRESIDENT RAJOY TO PRIME MINISTER MAY ON THE ATTACK IN MANCHESTER
5/26/2017
On May the 23th, the President of the Government of Spain, Mariano Rajoy-Brey, sent a telegram of condolences to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Theresa May.

The telegram reads as follows:

Rt. Hon. Theresa May MP
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
London

Dear Prime Minister,

It is with deep sadness that I have received the news of the despicable and ferocious attack carried out in Manchester, during a music concert mainly attended by children and teenagers, which has left dozens dead and injured.

In this moment of deep commotion, please receive on behalf of the Government and of the Spanish people, our solidarity and most heartfelt condolences for the deceased, as well as our wishes of a prompt recovery of the injured. I would appreciate if you could convey these wishes to their relatives as well.

I would like to express our most outright condemnation of this atrocious and cowardly attack and the total support of the Spanish authorities. The British people can rest assured to count on Spain’s support in the fight against those who use violence to attack our societies.

Today, Manchester is in everyone’s heart.

I would like to avail myself, Prime Minister, of this opportunity to renew to you the assurances of my highest consideration.

Mariano Rajoy-Brey
President of the Government of Spain
