Visas for investors in real estate
RESIDENCE VISA FOR REAL ESTATE INVESTORS
 
This visa allows you to reside in Spain if you have invested in real estate in the country a minimum amount of 500.000 Euros. The process may take between 2 to 4 weeks from the day all documents are presented.
Once your visa is authorized, we will contact you by email or phone, and you (and all your family members applying for a visa) will have to come in person to this Embassy to pick up the visa.
 
WHERE AND WHEN TO APPLY
 
The Embassy of Spain in Kuwait will consider applications for Visas BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. You must come personally because the attendance is commendatory.
One appointment per person. To schedule an appointment send an email to our Embassy (emb.kuwait.vis@maec.es).

Apply in person or by legal representative (only parents or custodians) written, notarized authorization needed. In the latter case, the applicant must come in person to pick up the visa.
 
WHAT TO SUBMIT
 
The consular administration has full authority to evaluate, and request more documents than those submitted by the applicant. The latter is hereby informed that submitting the aforementioned documents does NOT guarantee automatic issuance of the visa. The documents accepted in order to process the visa, will not be returned.
Original of each of the following items must be presented
 
1.    National visa application form: The application forms must be signed and filled out.
2.    Passport: Valid passport for a minimum of 1 year, with at least one blank page to affix the visa.
3.     One passport size photo: (white background, 2x2in) One per application form.
4.     Certification of ownership and outstanding charges form the Land Registry of the property or properties ("Certificación con la información continuada de dominio y carga del Registro de la Propiedad"). Such certificate must have been issued within 90 days prior to the visa application.
5.    Proof of real state purchase worth 500.000 Euros free from any charges or mortgages. The part of the investments that exceeds the required amount may be subject to charges or mortgages.
6.     Proof of enough periodic income for the investor and for each additional member of the family. All documentation must be translated into Spanish.
7.     Non criminal record certificate (If your program lasts over 180 days): issued by the authorities of the country of origin and / or the country where the applicant has lived for the last 5 years (NOTE: if applicant has resided in more than one country, one certificate has to be issued by the authorities of each country) – This document must be stamped / legalized by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs – This document must be translated into Spanish – NOTE: If Kuwaiti authorities (Ministry of Interior) require a letter from the Embassy, this letter must be requested separately by the applicant writing to emb.kuwait@maec.es , including a copy of the passport and the residence permit.
8.     Health Insurance: Proof of payment of health insurance with a copy of the insurance policy. Please note that these insurances are different from travel insurances.
9.     Non-Kuwaiti citizens will have to provide evidence of their legal residence in Kuwait (for example: civil ID).
 
SPOUSE
Original of each of the following items must be presented
 
1.      National visa application form: The application forms must be signed and filled out.
2.      Passport: Valid passport for a minimum of 1 year, with at least one blank page to affix the visa.
3.      One passport size photo: (White Background, 2x2in) One per application form.
4.      Marriage certificate (not older than 3 months) – This document must be stamped / legalized by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs – This document must be translated into Spanish.
5.    Health Insurance: Proof of payment of health insurance with a copy of the insurance policy. Please note that these insurances are different from travel insurances.
6.      Non criminal record certificate: issued by the authorities of the country of origin and / or the country where the applicant has lived for the last 5 years (NOTE: if applicant has resided in more than one country, one certificate has to be issued by the authorities of each country) – This document must be stamped / legalized by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs – This document must be translated into Spanish – NOTE: If Kuwaiti authorities (Ministry of Interior) require a letter from the Embassy, this letter must be requested separately by the applicant writing to emb.kuwait@maec.es , including a copy of the passport and the residence permit.
7.      Non-kuwaiti Citizens will have to provide evidence of their legal residence in Kuwait (for example: civil ID)
 
 
MINOR CHILDREN
Original of each of the following items must be presented
 
1.      National visa application form: The application forms must be signed and filled out.
2.      Passport: Valid passport for a minimum of 1 year, with at least one blank page to affix the visa.
3.      One passport size photo: (White Background, 2x2in) One per application form.
4.      Birth certificate This document must be stamped / legalized by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs – This document must be translated into Spanish.
5.      Health Insurance: Proof of payment of health insurance with a copy of the insurance policy. Please note that these insurances are different from travel insurances.
6.      Non-kuwaities Citizens will have to provide evidence of their legal residence in Kuwait (for example: civil ID)
 
 
 
VISA FEES
 
·     We only accept cash (exact change) or money order. No personal check, no credit cards.
·     The processing fee will not be returned even if the visa is not granted or cancelled.
