PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE LODGING AN APPLICATION

A student visa allows you to study in Spain for a period of over 90 days to undertake or further a course of studies in a Spanish study centre recognised by the Spanish government.

Visa processing may take up to one month.  Applicants must lodge their visa applications in person and collect their visas, if approved, also in person. Approved visas that are not collected within one month from the date of written notification of approval, will be withdrawn.

Please note that during the examination of a visa application, some additional documents may be requested in order to determine that all requirements to obtain the visa are met.

You will be required to present original documents and a photocopy.  Originals will be returned after they are sighted at the Consular office.

If the student visa is granted for a period longer than 6 months, said visa must be presented at the Oficina de Extranjería (Immigration Office) or “Comisaría de Policía, Departamento de Extranjería” during the first month from the date of arrival in Spain to apply for your residency card which will replace your visa once in Spain.

Although flight bookings are required, it is advisable not to make any final payments concerning travel dates until you have been advised that your student visa has been approved. *
