The Fabulous Adventure of Cubism

Six lectures presented by Terence Maloon
 A fundraising event

Curator, Art Historian and Director of the ANU Drill Hall Gallery, Terence Maloon will take you on The Fabulous Adventure of Cubism in a series of six lectures on Sunday afternoons at the Australian National University.

Picasso's Spanish beginnings 5 July
Picasso and Braque: the genius of collaboration 12 July
Georges Braque: the poetics of introversion 26 July
Cubism, collage, construction and Picasso's achievement in sculpture 2 August
Picasso and the problem of abstraction 9 August
Altered perspectives: modern art after the conquest of the air 16 August

Sunday afternoons at 3pm Manning Clark Centre, ANU 2 mins walk from Drill Hall Gallery (Kingsley St, Acton, ACT)

Series tickets: $60 ($50 for DHG Friends, students)
Individual lecture tickets: $13 ($10 for DHG Friends, students)

These lectures will raise funds for the refurbishing of the ANU Drill Hall Gallery in early 2016.
The University has committed a half-million dollars towards replacing the Gallery's air conditioning system. This will bring it into line with the stringent requirements of today's art galleries and museums.
But much more needs to be done. The Gallery's antiquated lighting system, the insulation of the building and the renovation of the Nolan Room all need to be addressed.
Please help us by supporting this initiative and let's give the Drill Hall Gallery the chance for a great leap forward. Renewing your Friendship, bringing us new Friends, supporting our fundraising activities, making donations to our building project... these are all ways of making a difference to the Gallery's future.
