Citizens of the Republic of Moldova and other nationalities
 
In order to travel to Spain, both citizens of the Republic of Moldova and citizens of other nationalities must be in possession of a visa when, according to European Community regulations, they are subject to such requirement. 
For non-EU legal residents of Romania, the Uniform (Schenegen) visas must be applied for at the Spanish Embassy in Bucharest. For non-EU legal residents of the Republic of Moldova, the visa may be requested either in the Spanish Embassy in Bucharest or in the Spanish Embassy of the Czech Republic in Chisinau (Republic of Moldova).
For non-EU legal residents of Romania, the Spanish National visas are processed at the Spanish Embassy in Bucharest.  For non-EU legal residents of the Republic of Moldova and Moldovan citizens, the visas can be processed either by the Spanish Embassy in Bucharest or by the Spanish Embassy in Kiev (Ukraine).
 
Visas for family members of EU citizens that wish to travel to Spain
 
Under the Directive 2004/38/CE and the Royal Decree 240/2007 the concept "foreign family members of an EU citizen" refers to the following people:
 
1.spouse
2. common-law partner (not married)
3.direct descendants of the EU citizen and/or those of the spouse or common-law partner that are:
 3.1 children under the age of 21
 3.2 dependent children over the age of 21
 3.3 disabled persons
4. direct dependent relatives of the EU citien and/or those of the spouse or common-law partner
 
For those that are in possession of a valid EU Citizen Family Member Residence Card, a visa is not required to enter Spain.
 
Those that do not do possess a valid EU Citizen Family Member Residence Card must apply for a visa if they are nationals of countries that are subject to such requirement. The process of issuing the visa is free of cost and preference will be given to applicants that are accompanied by an EU citizen or are reuniting with one.
 
European Union countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croacia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holand, Hungary, Irland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
 
In the event of aeroplane travel, stopovers or border crossing in other national territories, it is recommended that you put yourself in contact with the airline companies and the respective authorities in order to determine what documentation is required.
