RESIDENCE VISA FOR FAMILY REUNIFICATION
(EU, EEA AND SWITZERLAND REGIME)
(Relevant regulation: Real Decreto 240/2007)
1) APPLICATION SUBMISSION: applications must be done in person and by arranging an appointment through the following email
cog.pekin.vis@maec.es (Please do NOT attach any documents). In the case of minors, the application and visa collection can be done by their parents or legal guardians, or else by an authorized person.
2) REQUIREMENTS AND DOCUMENTS IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER
Family members of Spanish citizens or citizens of other European Union member States, European Economic Area States (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) or Switzerland which live or are planning to live in Spain, can be beneficiary of the right of free movement and residence in Spain. These family members are:
• His/ her spouse or civil partner, as long as they are not legally separated.
• His/ her lineal descendants, and those of his/ her spouse or civil partner (not legally separated) under the age of 21, above the age of 21 still in his/ her care, or handicapped.
• His/ her lineal ascendants dependant on him/her, or those of his/her spouse or civil partner (not legally separated).

Visa application form filled out in block capitals or typed, (no Chinese characters). It must include some contact information (mobile phone, email) to be used in case of notifications and requirements. A photocopy of the first page of the application form shall be enclosed. It will be stamped by the consular office and returned to the applicant as a receipt.
2) One recent passport-size colour photograph (3.5 X 4.5 cm) with white background
3) Hukou: original and photocopy of all the pages.
4) Ordinary passport (or exceptionally a “public affairs/service/diplomatic passport”) with at least four months validity, and photocopy of all the pages.
5) Documents proving that the relative who has the right to the “EU Regime” is already living in Spain or has the intention to move to Spain with the applicant.
6) All documents (original and photocopy) proving the kinship.
7) In the case of descendants over the age of 21, lineal ascendants or handicapped relatives, documents proving economic dependence or the need for personal care by the relative who has the right to the “European Union Regime” (i.e. transfer of goods/ financial transfers, coverage of expenses in such a degree as to be considered economic dependence).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• The processing for this kind of visa is free of charge.
• Please DO NOTE that all the documents must be translated into Spanish, and the original must be accompanied by a photocopy.
• All applications are considered individually; therefore each applicant must bring his/her own set of all the required documents.
• This Consulate General may summon the applicant for a personal interview when deemed necessary. It also reserves itself the right to request any further additional documents as considered necessary.
• Providing additional documents: the deadline for submitting additional documents and/or any other additionally required materials is 10 working days.
• The processing time for applications is three months, after which the application may be considered rejected (without notification).
• Applicants may pick up their visas in person within two months after notice of visa issuance.
• The information printed on the visa should be checked by the applicant upon its collection. The collection of the visa entails the tacit acceptance of the information contained therein.
