The Consulate General in Cape Town opened in the middle of the 19th century. The current jurisdiction of this consulate comprises of the following provinces in South Africa: Eastern Cape, Kwazulu-Natal, Northern Cape, and Western Cape.
The following countries also fall in the jurisdiction: Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius.
The following provinces do not form part of the jurisdiction: Gauteng, North West, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and Free State, as well as the following countries: Eswatini and Lesotho.
